2,380 NSCDC Officers Deployed in Kwara to Guarantee Yuletide Safety

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has announced the deployment of 2,380 officers to maintain security and public safety during the Christmas and New Year festivities across the state.

The disclosure was made in a statement issued on Saturday in Ilorin by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Ayoola Shola.

According to the statement, the deployment is aimed at enhancing the protection of critical national assets, securing public infrastructure, and ensuring the safety of residents throughout the festive season.

It added that the security operation covers all 16 local government areas of Kwara State.

The personnel were drawn from various elite and specialised units, including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony team, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit.

The command noted that officers had been strategically stationed based on intelligence reports, threat assessments, and operational needs to ensure effective coverage.

Residents were assured of close collaboration between the NSCDC and other security agencies, as well as local vigilante groups, to guarantee swift response and comprehensive security throughout the Yuletide period.

The statement also issued a stern warning to vandals and individuals intending to disrupt public peace, stressing that the corps is fully prepared to deal decisively with any attempt to sabotage critical assets.

Members of the public were advised to remain alert and security-conscious, and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest security agency.
