Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has broken his silence amid a whirlwind of speculation about his well-being and marriage to Natasha Osawaru, pleading with fans, friends, and family to “cease fire” after a deleted Instagram Story reading “Help me” sparked widespread alarm.
In a video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) and shared by user @AsakeGrn on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the 49-year-old singer appeared composed but urgent, insisting he’s “perfectly fine” and that the frenzy is endangering his wife.
“This is getting out of hand, and this is a dangerous situation right now. I know what fans can do, I know what people can do. I am perfectly okay. And this is putting Natasha at risk. It’s not fair on anybody to do this kind of thing.”
2Baba repeatedly urged calm:
“Please, I beg you… cease fire. We are going to resolve all these issues. People get issues for house, no be today, but this is getting out of hand. Friends, family, everybody — cease fire. I did not post that post. Please, I am okay.”
He denied authoring the “Help me” Story, which vanished minutes after appearing, and called the situation “blown out of proportion.”
The Backstory: From UK Arrest Rumors to Live Video Clash
The drama reignited after a viral clip from media personality Daddy Freeze’s Instagram Live on December 1, 2025, captured 2Baba and Natasha in a heated exchange. Former managers Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, guests on the stream, alleged Natasha’s “psychological control” over the singer, including a UK airport incident during his October tour where she reportedly accused him of abandoning her.
Unverified footage emerged of 2Baba briefly detained by UK police at Gatwick Airport following the supermarket altercation, fueling “arrest” rumors. Kaka claimed Natasha’s behavior damaged 2Baba’s confidence and career, leading him to cut ties.
Women flooded Freeze’s Live, pleading: “Men, help save 2Baba from Natasha!” One user noted: “He’s about to start crying” in the clip, where Natasha appeared to slap him amid shouts of “Don’t do it” and “What is your problem?”
The couple’s July 2025 marriage—after 2Baba’s January split from Annie Macaulay-Idibia—has been rocky, with Natasha (Edo House of Assembly member) facing backlash for her rapid integration into his life.
2Baba’s Plea: “Issues in House No Be Today”
Emphasizing normalcy, 2Baba said:
“People dey get issues for house, but this is getting out of hand… I am perfectly fine. I did not post that post.”
His brother Hyacinth Idibia had voiced worry earlier, but 2Baba’s video aims to de-escalate, protecting Natasha from “cyberbullying.”
Fans remain divided: Some praise his maturity (“Respect to 2Baba for handling this privately”); others question the timing (“Why now? Something’s off”).
No official statement from Natasha or 2Baba’s team yet. As the singer’s family navigates scrutiny, his call echoes: Resolution is private—fans, stand down.
The African Queen crooner, father of seven, returns to music amid the storm. Stay tuned.
