30 New Schools Set to Be Built in Anambra State

By Peter.

Anambra State accelerates education drive with 30 new primary schools in underserved communities, announced fresh off Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s resounding re-election victory on November 8, 2025—securing 73% of votes and sweeping all 21 local government areas with 422,664 ballots.

The bold initiative emerged from the 22nd State Executive Council meeting on November 12 at the Light House in Awka, where leaders hailed Soludo’s win as proof that “electoral success flows from delivering real value and development.”

Commissioner for Information Law Mefor highlighted the council’s resolve:

“This move deepens the impact of our free education policy, ensuring no child misses out—every community will feel the Soludo touch.”

The schools address gaps flagged in recent reports on areas without adequate public primaries and secondaries, building on Soludo’s first-term push: upgrading 22 schools to ‘smart’ tech hubs and hiring over 8,000 teachers to bring kids back to class.

Other wins from the meeting:

  • 2026–2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework locked in, targeting budget passage by December 31, 2026.
  • Vow to stick to strategic projects only—no election gimmicks, echoing September’s ₦43.7 billion infra rollout for roads, power, and schools.

President Bola Tinubu called it “an affirmation of visionary leadership,” while APGA touted the 98% ward dominance as a mandate for “liveable prosperity.” Soludo teased: “You ain’t seen nothing yet”—promising faster infra, youth jobs, and economic boom in term two.

On X, Anambra buzzed with endorsements, from rallies in Awka South (₦103M pledged) to stats showing Soludo’s 64% accredited vote haul—a leap over past APGA incumbents.
