The only female Governorship candidate in the Edo state forthcoming election Patience Ndidi Key of People Redemption Party has urged Women especially those in the media profession
profession to sensitize the electorate on the need to vote wisely and encouraged women to support each other in all endeavors.
She made the plea during an interactive session with members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ at the Press Center, Conference Hall Benin city .
Addressing the women Ndidi Key promised to give women fifty percent of appointive positions and even surpass it if elected into office and continue to play a major role in ensuring that the girl child was protected against human trafficking, encouraged to acquire academic qualifications instead of seeking perceived greener pastures and be faced with molestations and inhuman treatment.
She said she would to guarantee good governance where Edo residents would enjoy the dividends of democracy and feel proud to be called Edolites and pleaded with the electorate to give her their votes as she had a lot to give them having been equipped for the job based on her antecedents.
On their parts, NUJ National Trustee Zone F Dr Mrs Abimbola Oyetunde , former NAWOJ Chairperson, Ijeoma Umeh enjoined the People’s Redemption Party Candidate to put Edo State residents especially women and children at heart if elected in this Saturday’s election.
In her remark Chairperson NAWOJ Edo state chapter , Adesuwa Ehimuan thanked the women for creating time to attend the interactive session with the PRP candidate and wished her success in all her endeavors.
