Igue Festival: Okpebholo Felicitates Oba of Benin, Pledges Loyalty

Governor Monday Okphebholo has sent a message of felicitation to the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Oba Ewuare Il, on the occasion of this year’s Igue festival.
Okpebholo in a message he personally signed, pledged his unalloyed loyalty to the revered monarch.
“On behalf of Edo State Government, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, the Oba of Benin, and the entire Edo people on the occasion of the annual Igue festival.
“Traditionally, this is a period of thanksgiving to Almighty God for peace and development in Benin Kingdom.
“Despite the numerous challenges, Benin Kingdom and indeed Edo State have made remarkable progress. We thank God and pray for the sustenance of the great blessings which the Royal Majesty has helped to strengthen.
“As a Government, we are ready to partner with His Royal Majesty for a better Edo State. The Benin heritage is a global phenomenon and a great asset to our beloved State.
“We shall continue to design programmes and policies that will uphold the development of this heritage for the good of all,” Okpebholo stated.
He prayed for the peace, progress, and prosperity for all Edo people, even as he asked God Almighty continue to increase the wisdom and total blessings of Oba of Ewuare II.
