Okpebholo Renames Edo State University, Uzairue
1 min readThe Edo State Governor, Mr. Monday Okpebholo, has renamed the State-owned Edo State University, Uzairue.
NextNewsOnline reports that the University was named Edo State University, Iyamho by former Governor of the State, Senator Adams Oshiomhole who founded it in his home village, Iyamho.
The immediate past Governor Godwin Obaseki, however changed it to Edo State University, Uzairue.
With the latest change of name was contained in a statement on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
The two-paragraph statement said:
“It is hereby announced for the information of the General Public that the Governor of Edo State, His Exeellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the change of the name of ‘Edo State University, Uzairue,’ to now be known as ‘Edo University, Iyamho’ with immediate effect.
“Accordingly, all documentations in respect of the Institution henceforth shall reflect the above change.”
