Okpebholo Appoints PDP Chieftain, Dan Orbih Board Chairman of AAU
1 min readGovernor Monday Okpebholo of Edo, has appointed Chief Daniel Osikheme Orbih, as Chairman of the Governing Council of the State-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU).
Orbih is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and a leader of the Legacy Group faction of the party in the State.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, announced Orbih’s appointment in a statement Tuesday evening.
Other members of the seven-man Board of the University include, Martins Osakwe, Prof. Steve Amiemenkharu Iyayi, Lukman Muhammad, Prof. Idialu Jeremiah Uwaifo, Prof. Eric Kelly Inanemo Omogbai and Prof. Omoruyi Ikponmwonse Osahon.
“The appointment of the Governing Council takes immediate effect from December 31, 2024,” the statement noted.
Nextnewsonline reports that the Legacy Group openly rejected the candidate of the PDP in the September 21 governorship election in the State.
Instead, the group worked for the emergence of Governor Okpebholo of the APC.
