Women, Men Commodity Association visits Edo First Lady’s Office

The Association of Commodity Women and Men, Edo State, led by Pastor Josephine Ibhguezejele, the Edo State Market Leader, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the First Lady of Edo State. The visit highlighted the association’s commitment to supporting the government’s initiatives and fostering unity among market leaders.

During the visit, Pastor Josephine Ibhguezejele commended Her Excellency for her impactful leadership and called for its continued sustenance. She emphasized the association’s unwavering support, stating, “You are our mother, and anytime you need us, we are just a call away. Every child attends to their parents.”

She also addressed challenges in market leadership, noting that some individuals were still parading themselves as union heads. She revealed that some had been arrested while others faced sanctions, including the locking up of their stores.

Pastor Ibhguezejele highlighted ongoing efforts in collaboration with the Director of Waste Management to ensure that Edo markets remain clean and hygienic. She assured Her Excellency of the association’s support for Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s administration, pledging their full cooperation both now and in the next election.

In response, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Anani, appreciated the association for the visit and commended Pastor Ibhguezejele for her exceptional leadership. She encouraged the market leaders to promote unity and resolve lingering issues through dialogue.

“The market must have a mission and vision statement, with clear aims and objectives. Women should uplift one another to enable collective success. Unity among market leaders is crucial for harmony and progress,” Mrs. Anani said.

She also emphasized the importance of hygiene, urging market women to keep their spaces and surroundings clean for the benefit of both sellers and buyers. “Our markets are strong pillars in our society. Let us resolve all issues and work in unity and harmony. A new Edo has risen, and together, we will uplift Edo State.”

Mrs. Anani assured the association that her doors remain open for collaboration and support, saying, “Anytime you need anything, I am here for you. I appreciate your visit and look forward to a strong synergy with you all.”
