Edo State Appoints Augusta Ikpea-Enaholo as DG of Health Insurance Commission to Strengthen Healthcare Access

The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Augusta Ikpea-Enaholo as the Director General of the Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDHIC). This appointment reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring more residents have access to quality and affordable medical care.
With over 20 years of experience in law, public administration, healthcare reform, and corporate governance, Ikpea-Enaholo brings valuable expertise to her new role. She holds an LLB from the University of Kent, an LLM from the University of Bristol, and a Doctorate in Maritime Law from the International Maritime Law Institute (IMO), Malta. She is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
Her career spans both the public and private sectors, where she has held leadership positions, including Principal Legal Officer at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Executive Director at Lee Engineering and Construction Company, and Chief Executive Officer at Royal Oaks Events Limited. Her background in policy development, corporate governance, and regulatory affairs will help her lead EDHIC in expanding access to healthcare across Edo State.
Speaking on her appointment, Ikpea-Enaholo expressed her commitment to making healthcare more accessible and efficient. She emphasized the need for collaboration and innovation, stating that under her leadership, EDHIC will focus on transparency, efficiency, and affordability in healthcare administration.
