In line with its ongoing efforts to support and nurture young talent, the Edo State Government, under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, has called on youths to utilize social media for positive and productive outcomes. This call was made during the Phinix Talk Show, themed “Content Creation and Social Media Monetization,” held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub in Benin City.

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, commended the event organizer, Debbie Uche, affectionately known as Phinix, for her commitment to giving back to society through initiatives that support young people.

“I am honored to be here today,” Mrs. Anani remarked. “I always say that today’s youths are the leaders of tomorrow. I commend Phinix for organizing this event, as it clearly shows that young people in our state are genuinely invested in the future of our nation.”

Miss Uche, in her address, expressed her appreciation to all attendees and took the opportunity to encourage emerging artists, content creators, and youths to embrace the power of positive thinking in order to achieve their goals.

“Thank you all for being here. To the young ladies present, I urge you to invest in knowledge and valuable information. The knowledge you acquire today will carry you forward in the future. The information you absorb and internalize today is what will ultimately create wealth for you.”

Mrs. Anani further emphasized the potential of social media as a tool for financial success, highlighting the story of popular influencer “Aproko Doctor,” who began his journey as a content creator while still an undergraduate.

“Social media is a global business, and everyone is on platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, and Facebook,” she said. “Many young people are already earning money by creating content. The key is to leverage what you have to generate income. Entrepreneurs are the wealthiest individuals today, and social media presents a unique opportunity to tap into that wealth.”

The event was also graced by the Special Adviser on Legal Affairs, Honourable Andrew Ewanta, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Pius Alile, and other notable dignitaries from the Edo State Government.

The event featured performances and insights from Berri Tiga, an Afrobeat artist, and Carter Efe, a widely recognized content creator, both of whom have gained significant recognition on social media platforms.
