First Lady’s Office Lauds Super FM’s Commitment to Women, Children’s Welfare.

The Coordinator’s Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesilli Okpebholo Anani, has commended the management and staff of Super FM led by General Manager, Mr Gbenga James for their laudable programs focusing on women and children. The commendation was made during a courtesy visit to Governor’s House.

 

Mrs Anani said, “I was excited to learn about your dedicated programmes for women, as they are the bedrock of every society. Having programmes that tackle these issues is crucial for creating a better and healthier society. Such platforms help girls know they can overcome challenges because others have done so. I always tell people that women possess immense strength; we just need to amplify it and let our voices be heard.”

 

She appreciated the Station’s initiative on their annual programme called The Little Queen in commemoration of the annual Children’s Day, she encouraged the sustainability of such programmes and noted the importance in the formative years of a child. She said, “I always tell people that the children we have today are the leaders of tomorrow, and what we give to them today shapes how our society becomes tomorrow. It’s crucial to inculcate positive values during these formative years.”

 

 

The General Manager Mr. Gbenga James stated that Super FM is a national radio station that has been broadcasting for five years, creating content tailored to their audience in various locations, including Edo State. He highlighted the station’s program, Today’s Woman, which has been a flagship initiative since its inception in the state. The program aims to promote women’s progress, particularly in addressing domestic violence.

 

The General Manager expressed gratitude and noted that Mrs. Anani, has shown a commitment to protecting women and the girl child. He sought to continue the partnership between Super FM and the First Lady’s office, particularly on programs such as Today’s Woman and Mother and Child.

 

Mr. James also invited the First Lady to be the special guest of honor for the upcoming  Little Queen an annual event commemorating Children’s Day. The program celebrates the girl child, showcasing their talents, cultural heritage, and intellectual abilities. Little queens aged 5-10 from the 18 local governments in Edo State participate in IQ tests, interschool debates, quizzes, and cultural dances.

 

The First Lady’s office has expressed enthusiasm for the partnership and support for Super FM’s initiatives, which align with her office’s goals of promoting the welfare of women and children in Edo State.
