A woman has ignited conversations online after candidly reflecting on how marriage and motherhood reshaped her perspective on life.
In a heartfelt post, she revealed that it was only after getting married and giving birth that she began questioning who marriage truly benefits. She highlighted that women often bear the heavier burden — emotionally, physically, and mentally.
She explained that marriage can make women feel like tools, expected to manage cooking, cleaning, childcare, and even financial responsibilities, while also enduring the full weight of pregnancy, childbirth, and long-term caregiving.
“Why is something described as a blessing often accompanied by so much pain, stress, sleepless nights, and emotional strain for women?” she asked, sparking widespread discussion online.
She shared that childbirth brings intense physical pain, followed by years of responsibility that largely fall on women, while many men’s lives continue relatively unchanged.
Admitting she never strongly pursued marriage herself and only consented due to family pressure, she said that lived experience, not theory, opened her eyes.
Despite the challenges, she emphasized her deep love for her son, noting that motherhood has been a source of joy — even as it forced her to confront uncomfortable truths about societal expectations for women.
