The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady of Edo State, warmly welcomed the Akpakomiza Queens, led by Hon. Dame Princess Esther Eghaghe, during an official visit to her office.

In her remarks, the coordinator emphasized the critical role women play in the political and social development of the state, noting that women are the foundation of every election and that Esan land, in particular, is blessed with exceptional women full of potential.

She further highlighted the vital responsibility that mothers bear in shaping the future of their children. According to Her Excellency, it is essential for mothers to educate their children on the importance of respecting the law and to encourage them to seek help from law enforcement agencies rather than taking justice into their own hands.

Mrs Anani stressed that if ever single mother had cautioned her child against vigilantism, many issues might have been prevented.

Additionally, she called for a collective effort to curb the menace of cultism, underscoring that the enactment of Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism laws in Edo State represents a steadfast commitment to securing the community.

In a gesture of gratitude, the coordinator expressed her sincere thanks to the Akpakomiza Queens for their unwavering support before, during, and after the electoral process.

She recalled that when His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, announced his ambition, many remained skeptical, yet his determination ultimately prevailed. She assured the Queens that her office is fully committed to meeting their needs and actively involving them in the administration’s empowerment programmes, ensuring that all citizens benefit from the government’s initiatives.

Hon. Dame Princess Esther Eghaghe also conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for the outstanding work being done to improve the lives of Edo’s women and youth.

Reflecting on her active role as a mobilizer during Senator Okpebholo’s senatorial campaign and subsequent gubernatorial run, she recounted the tireless efforts and unwavering support that contributed to his success.

She expressed pride in the electoral victory and subsequent tribunal success, celebrating the outcome as a testament to her long-held belief in his leadership.

The visit underscored a renewed commitment to a collaborative approach between the Office of the First Lady and the Akpakomiza Queens, aiming to further empower women, develop youth capabilities, and promote peaceful, law-abiding communities throughout Edo State.
