Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has revealed that he wants Afrobeats sensation Asake to perform at his wedding.
The revelation came during Wizkid’s recent appearance on Apple Music radio with DJ Tunez, where he shared his admiration for Asake’s music.
Wizkid stated that the hit song “Omo Ope” made him a fan of Asake, while “Remember” is his favorite track—one he hopes will be played at his wedding ceremony.
The Starboy boss praised Asake as one of the most talented vocalists not only in Africa but globally, describing him as “a blessing to African music.”
He said:
“‘Omo Ope’ made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favorite Asake song is ‘Remember,’ I think you have to play that one at my wedding. It is an amazing record. You have one of the most special voices from Africa and the world. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid is currently in a relationship with his third baby mama and manager, Japa P., and the couple share three children—two boys and a girl.
Fans have eagerly anticipated news of Wizkid’s wedding, which he has been teasing for several years, and this latest revelation adds to the excitement.
