Atiku Slams Oshiomhole: ‘Check the Mirror Before Talking About Fixing PDP’

By Peter.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has delivered a stinging rebuke to Senator Adams Oshiomhole (APC, Edo North), who mocked his 2027 presidential bid under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by claiming Atiku “could not fix his own party” and thus couldn’t fix Nigeria.

In a statement by media adviser Phrank Shaibu on November 25, 2025, Atiku urged Oshiomhole to “look at himself in a mirror before speaking,” dismissing the jabs as desperate distractions from the APC’s “monumental failures.”

Atiku’s Key Points

  • PDP Not a Dictatorship: “Atiku was Vice President… not the national chairman of the PDP, nor the sole administrator of a political institution with thousands of independent leaders. Leadership in a democratic party is not dictatorship. The PDP, unlike the APC, was not a private estate controlled from Bourdillon.”
  • APC’s “Personal Empire”: “If Oshiomhole seeks the man who ‘fixed a party’ into a personal empire, he needs only look at the godfather he serves. Under the APC, party supremacy died, dissent was criminalised, and institutions became partisan weapons.”
  • Atiku’s Blueprint: “He has never been president, yet his development blueprint remains the most coherent Nigeria has seen in decades.”
  • APC’s Record: “If the APC could not fix Nigeria after eight wasted years and nearly three years of Tinubu, what moral authority does Oshiomhole have to comment on leadership?”
  • Nigerians Know Better: “Atiku represents vision, experience, and capacity. Oshiomhole represents noise, propaganda, and the bruising legacy of a party that betrayed the hopes of millions. He should sit this one out.”

Oshiomhole’s comments, made during a recent APC rally, highlighted Atiku’s PDP exits (2019, 2023) as evidence of disloyalty. Atiku’s ADC switch positions him as a potential opposition unifier for 2027.

The exchange escalates pre-election banter, with #AtikuVsOshiomhole trending on X. APC critics cheer Atiku’s clapback; supporters call it “desperation.”
