Bandits Share Images of Kaduna Priest and Wife After Demanding ₦600M Ransom

Bandits invaded Nissi community in Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on October 28, 2025, kidnapping Ven. Edwin Achi, an Anglican priest, and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Achi, from their home.

The kidnappers later contacted the family, demanding what has been described as an “outrageous ransom” of ₦600 million.

Rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who shared photos of the couple and other victims in captivity, appealed to the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify efforts for their safe release.

He wrote:

“Ven. Edwin Achi of the Anglican Communion, Diocese of Kaduna, a native of Umuaja in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State, and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Achi, were kidnapped in Kaduna on 28th October 2025. Today, they remain in captivity, with the abductors demanding an outrageous ₦600,000,000 ransom.”

Gwamnishu added that the photo released by the kidnappers shows other innocent victims, highlighting that this is not an isolated attack but part of a growing wave of insecurity in the region.

He urged the Federal Government, Kaduna State Government, and all relevant security agencies to act swiftly and decisively to secure the release of the victims.
