Bartholomew Okoudu Emerges President of CONGOS

Civil rights activist and community development expert, Comrade Dr. Bartholomew Okoudo (FCS) has emerged President of the Edo State Conference of Non Governmental Organisations (CONGOS)
Comrade Okoudo emerged president of the human rights group (CONGOS) in an election held today, Tuesday, 7 May, after polling 34 votes representing 97% of total votes cast to emerge winner.
Comrade Bartholomew Okoudo was until his election, Director of Administration of the conference.
In his acceptance speech, Okoudo thanked the outgoing President, Comrade Daisy Abiola Igaga for the support and opportunity given him to prove his worth, stressing that the fact he was elected unopposed testifies to the confidence reposed in him by the conference while assuring that he will neither betray nor take the confidence for granted.
He vowed to continue to give priority attention to CONGOS and all its activities.
Other Executive Council members elected were Mrs Taye Agbontean, Vice President, Comrade Osamuyi Ugiagbe, Director of Administration, and Comrade Emmanuel Omoike, Deputy Director of Administration. Mrs Ifeoma Robinson, Director of Program, Comrade Aliu Akokhia, Director of Research and Strategy amongst others.
The election was witnessed by Dr Jude Obasanmi, member, Board of Trustees, Comrade Innocent Ajayi, Hon Destiny Enabulele as well as Hon Agharese Idubor all members of the Advisory Board.
Also present was Comrade Moses Agwinede Joseph, Chairman National Youth Council of Nigeria, and other dignitaries.
Comrade Bartholomew Okoudo has over the years been committed to human rights activism, devoting his time and resources to community development, and contributing his quota to the enthronement of a just and egalitarian society in spite of his physical challenge.
