Things turned tense after a follower accused BBNaija star Queen Mercy of failing to protect her marriage, claiming that people in the US were calling her a prostitute and saying she could never stay in a man’s house.
The follower expressed heartbreak over the end of her marriage, stating they were “tired of defending her” and felt mocked by those they had once argued with in Mercy’s defense.
Another follower urged the commenter to stop “kicking someone who is already down,” reminding them that Queen Mercy is going through a difficult time.
In her response, Queen Mercy explained that her last visit to the United States was in 2017/2018, long before her fame, when she stayed briefly with her aunt in Houston before heading to Florida for a pageant. At the time, she had no public visibility, questioning how anyone in the US could label her a prostitute.
Mercy acknowledged that her family might be upset by her public response but felt it was necessary to clarify the situation.
She also addressed the criticism she has faced since leaving Big Brother Naija, noting that people continue to treat her as though she committed a crime on the show. She added that if another All Stars season occurs, she is ready to return without fear.
Responding to claims that she posted online to spite her child’s father, Queen Mercy clarified that she had never posted him before and shared her wedding pictures out of excitement, like any bride would. She insisted she never intended to provoke anyone.
On accusations about her readiness for marriage due to her acting roles, she revealed that she has only appeared in a few films and has never performed deep kissing or overly romantic scenes, challenging anyone to provide proof otherwise.
She also defended her TikTok dancing and twerking, saying it brings her joy and that she won’t stop.
Queen Mercy concluded by noting, “Being a ‘good girl’ never paid me,” reinforcing her stance on living life on her own terms.
