Benin Crown Prince Charges Youths to Embrace Opportunities in e-Sports, Appointed Patron
2 min readThe Crown Prince of the Benin Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Ezelekhae Ewuare II, has appealed to the youths of Edo State to explore opportunities offered by the globally-growing e-Sports industry.
He made the appeal when the Chairman of the Edo State e-Sports Association (ESEA), Daro Dean Bezi, led other executive members, including Beowaosa Build Aghosa (Vice Chairman) and Oviasuyi Cosmos (Publicity Director) on a courtesy visit on the Crown Prince at his residence in Benin.
Prince Ezelekhae who described e-Sports as a legal and meaningful avenue to engage the youth, emphasized its potential to become one of Africa’s major drivers of economic growth and development.
According to him, e-Sports provides entrepreneurial opportunities and serves as a valuable tool for steering young people away from social vices.
“I commend the Edo State e-Sports Association for their creativity, foresight and dedication to advancing e-Sports in the State. I urge Edo youths to take full advantage of the opportunities in this sector,” Prince Ezelekhae said.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Edo ẹ-Sports Association, Daro Dean Bezi, noted that the visit marks a new chapter in the promotion of e-Sports in Edo, positioning it as a platform for empowerment and economic transformation for the youth.
He expressed gratitude to the Crown Prince for accepting the role of Grand Patron of the Association.
Bezi described the royal gesture as a significant milestone for the Association and a testament to the commitment of the Crown Prince to youth development in the State.
Highlight of the visit was the conferment on the Crown Prince the Grand Patron and honorary member of the Association.
