Troops from Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), the Joint Task Force in North East Nigeria, successfully rescued 86 abducted individuals and detained 29 suspected suppliers linked to terrorists during recent coordinated raids in Borno State.
The update was shared in a statement posted on X on Monday by the task force’s Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.
He explained that soldiers from the 135 Special Forces Battalion, operating under Sector 2 of OPHK, clashed with Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on November 9 at Dutse Kura. The troops had received intelligence about insurgents kidnapping civilians and seizing vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.
The forces repelled the assault and chased the militants toward Mangari, engaging them again near a hideout. This pressured the insurgents to scatter and abandon their position.
A thorough sweep of the site resulted in the demolition of 11 temporary terrorist shelters and the safe recovery of 86 captives, comprising men, women, and children.
Seized items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds of ammunition, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles. The camp was fully cleared and razed afterward.
In a separate action, personnel stationed at Mangada intercepted 29 individuals suspected of delivering supplies to terrorists while heading to Chilaria.
Among the confiscated goods were two pickup vans and a tricycle carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)—approximately 1,000 litres of petrol in jerrycans—four gallons of engine oil, two new tyres for gun trucks, a large stock of medical supplies, and substantial amounts of food and other provisions.
All missions were completed without any troop losses.
The Military High Command praised the troops’ bravery and skill, urging Operation Hadin Kai to maintain relentless pressure to restrict terrorist movements throughout the North-East region.
The Nigerian Army has stepped up nationwide campaigns against terrorists, insurgents, and those undermining the economy, achieving notable gains over the past 48 hours.
