Borno Security Forces Rescue 74 NYSC Members from Kidnapping Threat

By Peter.

74 NYSC members (36 males, 38 females) were rescued by troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) after their three buses broke down on the Buratai–Kamuya road in Borno—a notorious kidnapping hotspot.

The incident occurred Tuesday at 9:05 p.m. Military CCTV surveillance detected suspicious activity and triggered an immediate response.

“Upon arrival, the troops found the stranded passengers were NYSC members. They swiftly secured the area and rescued them from a likely abduction attempt by Boko Haram or ISWAP terrorists,” said Media Information Officer Lt.-Col. Sani Uba.

The corps members were safely transported to Buratai military base and arrangements are underway for their onward journey.

Theatre Commander Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar praised the troops for their vigilance and swift action, reaffirming the Nigerian military’s commitment to citizen safety and security across the North East.
