The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, reaffirmed the Edo State Government’s commitment to enhancing the transport sector during a meeting with the Edo State Heavy Trucks Owners, Marketers, and Suppliers Association of Nigeria.

Mrs. Anani highlighted the administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, noting its passion for creating a business-friendly environment in the state. She stated, “I know that the current government, under Governor Monday Okpebholo, is committed to creating an enabling environment for everyone who lives and does business in this State—citizen or not. His compassionate approach ensures that all residents have the opportunity to thrive.”

Expressing his gratitude for the government’s efforts, the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Sarahaisu Musa, addressed the gathering. “It is with great honour and humility that I stand before you today on behalf of the Edo State Heavy Trucks Owners, Marketers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria. Our organization unites truck owners, drivers, mechanics, managers, agents, scrap dealers, marketers, and suppliers across the state and beyond.

We are dedicated to promoting professionalism, safety, and equitable business practices within the trucking industry, while also contributing to community development and national progress,” he said.

Mr. Musa further noted the Association’s successful partnership with the Federal Ministry of Interior and 2TOC Solutions Limited, which led to the establishment of the Nigerian Fire Extinguisher Control Program. This initiative is set to train and empower 1,548 members as Fire Extinguisher Servicing Vendors across Nigeria.

In addition, Mr. Musa emphasized the urgent need for a designated trailer park in Ahor Community, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area. He explained that such a facility would create job opportunities, enhance road safety, and help prevent accidents.

Mrs. Anani assured the participants that the project had already been escalated to the Governor and would receive due consideration. The meeting concluded with the Association presenting a gift to Mrs. Anani as a token of appreciation.

This engagement underscores the Edo State Government’s ongoing efforts to improve transport safety and foster a thriving business environment in the state.
