Delta Air Lines has officially inaugurated its first nonstop flight between Atlanta and Marrakech, marking a historic achievement for the U.S. airline and enhancing connectivity between the United States and Morocco.
The inaugural flight, operated by a Boeing 767-400ER, landed at Marrakech Menara Airport on October 26, kicking off a new service that will operate three times a week. The route links the culturally rich city of Marrakech to over 125 destinations across the U.S. via Delta’s global hub in Atlanta.
This new service makes Delta the first U.S. airline to offer a direct route between Atlanta and Marrakech, further strengthening business, leisure, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
With this expansion, Marrakech becomes the latest addition to Delta’s growing African network, which includes cities like Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.

In a statement, Christine Marchand-Pardo, Managing Director of EMEAI Operations, expressed excitement about the new route, saying, “Delta’s nonstop service to Marrakech underscores our commitment to connecting the U.S. and Africa. This new route opens up one of the world’s most vibrant and culturally rich destinations, offering a seamless travel experience for our customers. With three weekly flights from Atlanta, we’re combining convenience with Delta’s premium services. Passengers will enjoy everything from lie-flat seats in Delta One to gourmet dining and thoughtful amenities across all cabins. This expansion also strengthens Atlanta’s role as the world’s leading global hub, offering easy one-stop access to Marrakech.”
The new Atlanta–Marrakech service will operate three times a week: departures from Marrakech on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and from Atlanta on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. During the busy holiday season, between December 18 and January 6, 2026, the service will operate daily to meet increased travel demand.
The route will be serviced by Delta’s Boeing 767-400ER, offering a range of onboard experiences. These include Delta One with lie-flat seats and chef-curated meals, Delta Premium Select with extra space and enhanced dining, and Delta Comfort and Main Cabin options with upgraded amenities. Passengers also benefit from free, high-speed Wi-Fi for SkyMiles members, and personal in-flight entertainment with over 1,000 hours of content.
With one-stop connections through Atlanta, the route provides easy access to Marrakech for travelers from major U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco.
Since its first flight to Africa in 2006, Delta has carried over 7.5 million passengers to the continent. With the addition of Marrakech, the airline now serves six African cities, further expanding its network and offering greater access to the region.
This service is part of Delta’s broader international growth strategy from its Atlanta hub, the world’s busiest airport, which offers nearly 1,000 daily flights to 215 destinations worldwide. Established in 1925, Delta is one of the world’s largest and most awarded airlines, operating over 5,000 daily flights to more than 300 destinations across six continents.
