Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records boss and Afrobeats philanthropist, has clapped back at X critics accusing a fan, Itohan Olat (@itohan_olat, aka “Supremos Baby”), of being “greedy” or a “scam” after he fulfilled her Christmas wish with a substantial private donation on December 13, 2025.
The saga kicked off December 11 when Itohan tweeted: “I wish that #DONJAZZY would just ask me what I need for Christmas. I promise, I won’t be greedy.” Don Jazzy spotted it, replying: “Lol Oya na what do you want? Just cos I like your bio…” She listed clearing debts and launching “Mercy Foundation” for kidney patients’ dialysis (inspired by her brother’s death)—a request Jazzy called “everlasting expenses” but ultimately honored privately.
Itohan later posted a blurred receipt (six zeros visible, hinting millions) and began disbursing aid: ₦200K to one patient, ₦150K to another, totaling ₦350K so far for Abuja dialysis wards.
Don Jazzy’s Fiery Defense: “Pot Calling Kettle Black”
Critics flooded timelines calling her “entitled,” with one tweeting: “Men encourage bad behaviors in women… she didn’t deserve millions.” Don Jazzy fired back in a thread:
“What exactly did she do wrong? I like to help… She wants to help people too. I DM’d to save her from drags—she doesn’t owe anyone explanations. Is she a govt official? What’s this woman talk? Is the ₦20m laptop brother a woman too? Yet they label her entitled. Pot calling kettle black.”
He referenced his November ₦20M donation to Ayilola Ayotomiwa’s Tech Access Project (empowering 10,000 youths with laptops)—which drew similar backlash, leaving the recipient “exhausted and broken,” nearly refunding the cash.
Don Jazzy added: “I can’t help everybody… No NGO for me—everyone feels entitled to money that can’t go round.”
Itohan’s Gratitude & Aid Rollout
Itohan thanked Jazzy: “God is faithful… The dragging was worth it.” She’s verified claims physically in Abuja, limiting aid there, and shared hospital transfers for patients like Amadi Faith Kelechi and Fakutiju Solomon.
Defenders like @adetunbiowolabi: “She didn’t mention anything selfish—foundation for others, not her.”
Backlash Echoes: Greed vs. Genuine?
Critics persist: “Open foundation on another’s pocket?” But supporters hail Jazzy’s consistency—past gifts include ₦100M to VDM’s NGO and millions to fans. The laptop project’s Ayilola added his team’s ₦3.9M for 15 extra laptops, proving accountability despite “tears from attacks.”
Jazzy’s stance? Philanthropy on his terms—no entitlement owed. As #DonJazzyDonation trends, it’s a reminder: Kindness sparks joy… and keyboard warriors.
