Edesili Anani Encourages Women to Key Into Agriculture, Ensure Every Home A Garden

Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani, have encouraged Edo women to key into Agriculture, the First Lady Project, Every Home a Garden.
She share the initiative with Shemz Global Initiative during a courtesy visit in her office at Government House, stressing that every home a garden is targeted to ensure women have their own garden.
Mrs Anani said, International Women’s Day is held annual on March 8 globally, and the theme of this year Accelerate Action, questioning the kind of action the women are taking to let the woman know she can accelerate action and achieve a lot.
She explained further that he action every woman should take is to grow her own vegetables and also share to her neighbors.
Mrs. Anani emphasized that The First Lady Project, idea is not to sell her product to her fellow women but to use it to empower another woman, who should also commence her own cultivation to empower another to develop communities the the state.
She noted that the Government is concerned about food security and Agriculture, one of the major project of His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo’s agenda.
The Programme Coordinator, Folake Adebudo stated they were in Government House to partner with the Office of the First Lady on Farming, training women on tomatoes cultivation, targeting over 100 women across the eighteen local government area of Edo State.
She said the idea is that those in attendance will train other women in their local government areas.
She disclosed that they are partnering with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, an expert in tomatoes cultivation will be on ground to train the women on how to cultivate tomatoes in farms and gardens in their homes.
