Edo 2024: Bright Iyamu, PDP Ward leaders meets ahead of poll

Says Ugboko Ward remains the stronghold of PDP in Orhionmwon

The Hon. Member Representing Orhionmwon South Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Aitenguoba Iyamu recently held a meeting with the leaders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP in Ugboko Ward, Orhionmwon Local Government Area.

 

The meeting was held at the Iyamu’s residence and had in attendance, various party leaders across the ward.

 

The main agenda of the meeting was how best to ensure that the party delivered the accrued votes in the wards to the party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie.

 

The political leaders who took turns to add their voices at the meeting unanimously took a resolution that the expected votes at the September Guber election should exceed the votes the party recorded during the house of assembly election which brought in Hon.Iyamu to further strengthen the facts that ugboko is a strong hold of the PDP.

 

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Hon Iyamu said “it had become imperative for the leaders to brainstorm and strategise ahead of the Edo Gubernatorial election schedule for September 21.

 

According to him the candidacy of Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie have the capacity and tenacity to sustain the developmental strides laid down by Governor Godwin Obaseki”.

 

Iyamu pours encomium on the duo of Ighodalo and Ogie, which he said is a combination of an economic strategist and an astute politician which is good and timely in tackling the present economic situation.

 

He urged the Ward leaders to shun tight-fisted attitude and fanning the embers of discord, but rather they should embrace unity and harmony, emphasizing the need for them to focus in ensuring that the leaders in synergy with party faithful deliver the Ward for the PDP”.

 

Also speaking, the Councillor Representing Ugboko Ward in Orhionmwon Legislative Arm and Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Best Oghomwenotiti expressed readiness to support the leaders who had earlier agreed to deliver the Ward for the PDP candidate.

 

Some of the ward leaders present at the meeting include, the former Member of Edo Technical and Vocational Board, Hon. Monday Igbinigie, former Secretary to Orhionmwon Local Government, Hon. Sunday Okankan, Elderstatesman, Hon. Tony Egharevba, amongst others.
