Edo 2024: INEC Begins Accreditation Tag Issuance to Journalists

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the issuance of identification tags to journalists accredited to cover this Saturday’s governorship election in Edo state.
The distribution exercise commenced at about 11.AM Monday at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Edo state.
The National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, had said 114 newspaper, radio, television and online media organisations successfully uploaded the details of 721 personnel to cover the election.
Olumekun added that the full list, including the number of personnel to be deployed, has been uploaded to the commission’s website and social media platforms for public information.
He assured all accredited groups of unimpeded lawful access to voting and collation locations.
The issuance of media tags to journalists was hitch-free.
