The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today flagged off its gubernatorial campaign in a grand style at the Esigie College Field, Abudu, Orhionmwon LGA.
The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki led the party campaign team to the carnival like rally along with other PDP chieftains and supporters who are filled with enthusiasm and confidence about the forthcoming election.
Speaking at the rally, Governor Obaseki said his successor has the capacity to “anchor the relay race successfully to victory.”
He said “Ighodalo joined the race because of his love and passion for the people of the state and not that he was looking for fame or name”.
The PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Barr Asue Ighodalo said “he will harness the natural resources in Orhionmwon and make it an Agricultural hub in Edo State. The natural gas reserve and oil palms in Orhionmwon will be massively invested and Orhionmwon will be a rich local government area”.
Hon Bright Iyamu, member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in Edo State House of Assembly, encouraged all the party supporters to go back home and canvass support for Ighodalo and Ogie ticket, come out on election day, 21st September to vote for the PDP and ensure their votes counts.
He Lawmaker assured the governor that Orhionmwon is for PDP and Asue-Ogie, would win the election come September 21.
Earlier in his opening speech, the Council Chairman, Hon Newman Ugiagbe urged everyone to vote for PDP to enable continunity of all ongoing projects in Orhionmwon.
The PDP leaders and stakeholders in Orhionmwon graced the rally.
