The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has strongly responded to a statement from the opposition APC regarding the continued stay in office of the PDP running mate, Barrister Osarodion Ogie Esq, as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The Edo APC released a press statement in which the party vehemently protested against the PDP deputy governorship candidate’s continued stay in office.
They stated that it was against public service rules and called on him to step down.
However, the opposition party failed to cite any relevant section of the public service rules to support its demand for the SSG to vacate office.
In response, Edo State Commissioner of Orientation and Communication, Mr Chris Nehikhare, simply dismissed the APC’s claim, insisting the APC is never tired of fabricating half-truths and all manner of lies to justify its existence.
He criticized the APC for their apparent misunderstanding of the electoral law and described them and their candidate as “clueless,” suggesting that they have not properly read or understood the legal provisions.
“They can’t read and their candidate can’t read. They should go and read the electoral law, it says 30 days before the election. it is obvious now the APC cannot read and their candidate cannot read, it is a party of clueless people,” Nehikhare said
