Edo APC Muslim Women Hold Prayer Session for State Government

The Coalition of APC Muslim Women in Edo State held a special prayer session at Sir Victory Uwaifo Hub, Airport Road, Benin, seeking divine guidance and wisdom for the state government ably led by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Renowned Ulama recited the Holy Quran, followed by prayers for peace, harmony, and unity of Edo State.

In his remarks, Governor Monday Okpebholo represented by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Gani Audu, appreciated the Coalition of APC Women  for the laudable initiative. “On behalf of the Governor, I express gratitude for this wonderful prayer session. Two aspects make me particularly happy: the recitation of the Holy Quran and the gathering of women coming together in prayer.

 

As Muslims, we recognize the Quran’s significance, and I have no doubt that with these collective prayers, our Government will succeed”.

The Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani, highlighted the importance of prayer: “Prayers are a key source of strength, guardians, and comfort. Let us continue to nurture our spiritual growth through prayer and mutual support. By doing so, we will build stronger, more compassionate Edo State where everyone can thrive.

Mrs Anani further stated, “I acknowledge the profound impact of prayer in our lives. Prayer is a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and backgrounds. It is a powerful tool that connects us to the divine.

I have witnessed the power of collective prayer and support. I have seen firsthand how our communities can come together, united in their devotion and commitment to one another.

As Muslim women, our prayers are a source of inspiration and hope.
It helps us navigate life’s challenges and make informed decisions. Prayer empowers us to face obstacles and overcome them with courage and determination”.

May our prayers be a source of guidance, comfort, and strength for us all. Let us strive to build a community that embodies the values of empathy, kindness, and unity.”she added.

The Coordinator of the Coalition of APC Muslim Women in Edo State, Hajia Salimat Momodu emphasized the gathering’s purpose: “Our gathering here is a call to prayer for our land, divine guidance and wisdom for our leaders, peace and harmony in our communities, unity to all citizens of Edo state and the nation at large.”

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Chief Bisi Idaomi; the Wife of the Secretary to the State Government, Hajia Nimata Umar Ikhilor, the All Progressive Congress APC State Women Leader, Lady Betty Okoebor, traditional leaders amongst others.

The event underscored the significance of faith, hope, fairness, harmony and inclusivity in governance. Attendees prayed for government success and citizens’ well-being.

The prayer session demonstrates the role of faith and collective prayer in promoting peace and development in Edo State.
