Edo Deputy Governor meets with NAWOJ, assures of Govt Support

Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa on Thursday, February 6, had an audience with members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Edo State Chapter, reassuring them of government’s support.
Receiving the NAWOJ delegation led by Chairperson, Adesuwa Ehimuan who paid a courtesy visit to his office at the Edo State Government House, Idahosa stated that collaborating with the professional body based on its upcoming programmes would affect and benefit society positively.
He stated that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration is people oriented, mouthing, “The core mandate of this government is fairness, equity and justice.”
He praised members for being professional and veterans who bestrode the mass media world.
He observed that the body of women journalists went about doing their professional duties accurately, disseminating information, even when practitioners had to sometime make personal sacrifices for societal good.
He promised to give feedback to the group based on raised areas of needs to run its secretariat/collaborative efforts with government for upcoming events. He said he would reach across after due discuss with the governor.
