Edo First Lady Celebrates State’s Developmental Strides
…Commends Governor Okpebholo’s Leadership

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has emphasized the need to build a better Edo State for future generations, noting that sustainable development will position the state to compete favourably and showcase its strengths on the global stage.
Mrs. Anani disclosed this during a courtesy visit at Government House, emphasizing that governance must always be people-centered and geared toward delivering meaningful and measurable benefits to the people.
She described Governor Monday Okpebholo as a leader for all Edo people, regardless of political or social affiliations, assuring citizens that he is committed to the well-being of the state and dedicated to inclusive growth and sustainable development.
“The Governor belongs to everyone and has the best interests of Edo State at heart. We must continue to give him our full support. Governance is about service, doing good and maintaining a visible record of achievements that benefit the people,” she added.
Mrs Anani said the essence of government and governance is to bring leadership closer to the people, when those in positions of authority have nothing meaningful to offer, then government has failed in its responsibility. Leadership must translate into real impact in the lives of the people.
Speaking during the courtesy visit Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agonayinma, former member House of representative member representing Egor and Ikpoba-Okha Constituency noted that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s developmental strides across the state are visible for all to see.
He highlighted the construction of the first ever flyover bridge in Edo State’s history, describing it as a landmark achievement that has brought immense joy to residents of Ikoba-Okha Local Government Area and the state at large.
He further stated that the Governor’s development efforts cut across the three senatorial districts, demonstrating his commitment to equitable growth and balanced progress. “He has started well, and we are confident he will finish well,” he said.
Hon. Agnonayema also commended the First Lady for her dedication, compassion, humility, and love for the people, particularly women and vulnerable groups across the state. He acknowledged her impactful initiatives and steadfast support for the Governor’s vision for Edo State.
He expressed pride in the role of the First Lady, hailing her as a symbol of empathy and purposeful leadership. Reflecting on the brevity of life, he urged citizens to embrace love, kindness, and a spirit of uplifting others.
