Edo First Lady Condoles with the Family of Late General Godwin Osagie Abbe (Rtd), mni, CFR

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Anani, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late General Godwin Osagie Abbe at his country home on Godwin Abbe Way, off Limit Road, Benin City, Edo State.
During the visit, Mrs. Anani expressed her heartfelt condolences, stating:
“I received with rude shock the news of the passing of our beloved father, General Godwin Osagie Abbe (Rtd), mni, CFR, to eternal glory.
General Godwin Abbe was, until his death, a respected and dedicated leader, father, and elder statesman whose contributions have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
She further remarked:
“He was not only a prominent political figure but also a beacon of hope and progress for our state. His unwavering commitment to the development and well-being of Edo State will be remembered for generations to come.
His leadership, vision, and compassionate nature inspired many, and his legacy will continue to guide us. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and I, pray that God gives the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.”
Mr. Owen Abbe, son of the deceased, appreciated Her Excellency, Mrs. Edesili Anani for taking the time to visit the family despite her busy schedule.
Funeral Arrangements for General Godwin Osagie Abbe
The former Defence and Interior Minister, General Godwin Osagie Abbe, passed away at the age of 75 on December 21, 2024. He will be laid to rest as follows:

– *3:00 PM*: Service of Songs at United Baptist Church, 45 Mission Road, Benin City.
*Friday, January 24, 2025*
– *11:00 AM*: Commendation Service at United Baptist Church, Mission Road.
*Saturday, January 25, 2025*
– *12:00 Noon*: Celebration of Life at Nigeria Airforce Base, off Airport Road, Benin City.
*Sunday, January 26, 2025*
– *9:00 AM*: Outing Service and Thanksgiving at United Baptist Church, Mission Road, Benin City.
