Edo First Lady’s Office Emphasizes Women’s Role in Shaping Society

The Coordinator Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has highlighted the crucial role women play in shaping their households and communities. Mrs. Anani made this remark during a courtesy visit by the Afemai Daughters and Wives Association (ADAWA) in Government House, Benin City.

According to her, women are the backbone of society, and their empowerment is essential for the growth and development of families and communities. She stressed the importance of women’s unity, support, and empowerment, urging them to find their inner strength and encourage one another.

Mrs. Anani also emphasized the need for women to guide their children against social vices and encouraged them to foster a culture of unity, support, and upliftment among themselves. She noted that when women support each other, they become a formidable force for positive change in their communities.

The President Afemai Daughters and Wives Association (ADAWA), Hajia  Zuliatu Bello-Osagie, commended Mrs. Anani for her passion for the welfare of women, children, and the vulnerable in society. She appreciated the Coordinator’s initiatives in healthcare, education, gender empowerment, and social inclusion, noting that they align with ADAWA’s mission and vision statements.

The ADAWA President highlighted the association’s commitment to supporting government efforts, leveraging their skills and expertise to contribute to the growth of their communities and the state.

She expressed gratitude for the warm reception and looked forward to partnering with the Office of the First Lady on areas of mutual interest.

This meeting underscores the importance of collaboration and partnership between government agencies and women’s groups in promoting social development and empowerment.
