Edo First Lady’s Office Partners with POWA to Combat Violence, Ensure Safer Communities

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has called for continued support from the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) in upholding societal order and security during a courtesy visit at Government House.
Mrs. Anani emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Police and communities in building a more resilient and supportive society.
She reaffirmed her office’s commitment to initiatives that combat gender-based violence (GBV), empower women and youths. Highlighting the significance of women’s empowerment and youth development programs in fostering a healthier society.

The Coordinator emphasized the importance of supporting the families of Police officers, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty or lost their lives due to natural causes.
The Chairperson of Police Officer’s Wife Association, POWA, Mrs. Helen Agbonika, commended Mrs. Anani for her work in education, health, and empowerment. She sought support for their organization, which focuses on empowerment and mentoring youths.
The First Lady’s Office and POWA representatives discussed ways to collaborate on initiatives that promote peace, security, and empowerment of women in Edo State.
