Edo Govt Boosts Food Security, Distributes Agricultural Inputs to Farmers

The Coordinator Office of the First Lady Edo State, Mrs Edesili Okpebholo Anani has distributed agricultural inputs to grassroots farmers, reinforcing state government commitment to sustainable development and economic empowerment.
The initiative aims to boost agricultural activities and enhance food security in the state was organized by FADAMA CARES, held at Illeh Primary School, Ekpoma, Edo State.
Mrs Anani noted that Agriculture plays a crucial role in fostering growth, ensuring food security, and promoting economic prosperity. She urged beneficiaries to maximize the programme’s benefits, boost productivity, and contribute to the state’s agricultural growth.
The Coordinator was represented by Protocol Officer, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Mabel Obetoh, she expressed gratitude to FADAMA CARES for its impactful agricultural projects.
Hon. Ali Ibrahim, State Project Coordinator, Edo FADAMA CARES, emphasized that the distribution would advance food security, job creation, and rural development.
He noted, the distribution marks a giant stride in transforming Edo State under Sen. Okpebholo’s leadership and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Mr. Iyamu Imudia Junior, State Coordinator, State-Cares Coordinating Unit, Nigeria-CARES, represented by Mr. Okoror Jeffery, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, commended the state government for the empowerment programme.
The Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Albert Ebhodaghe, pledged unwavering support to the governor and assured farmers of enhanced security at their farms.
Beneficiaries, including Mr. Joseph Okodugha, Mrs. Precious Okhaifoh, and Mr. David Okosun, lauded the programme, saying the inputs would significantly enhance their productivity.
The distributed items included cassava milling machines, fertilizers, herbicides, tricycles, and motorized defeathering machines.
