Edo Scholar Shines as Renewed Hope Initiative National Scholarship Disburses Third Tranche

Edo State recorded another proud moment today as Miss Egbirenmonlen Sonia, a 300-level student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State and beneficiary of the prestigious Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) National Scholarship Programme, received her third tranche of support at an interactive session held at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The event was attended by dignitaries including the Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, Commissioner for Education, Dr. Paddy Iyamu, who accompanied the scholar and formally presented the scholarship gifts.
Each beneficiary of the programme went home with a ₦1 million cash award and a brand-new laptop, underscoring the initiative’s commitment to bridging educational gaps and equipping young scholars with the resources needed to excel.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Anani commended the Renewed Hope Initiative for sustaining its vision of investing in education, noting that Edo daughters and sons like Egbirenmonlen Sonia continue to demonstrate excellence and justify the confidence reposed in them.
The interactive session also created room for mentorship, experience-sharing, and direct engagement between the scholarship board and the 47 awardees.
The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) is the pet project of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, designed to touch lives through education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and social investment programmes. Since inception, it has provided scholarships, vocational support, and empowerment schemes across the country, reaffirming its resolve to build a brighter and more inclusive future for young Nigerians.
