Edo State Government Partners with Echoes of Women in Africa Initiative

The Edo State Government has taken a significant step towards promoting the welfare and rights of women and girls in the state by partnering with a non-governmental organization, Echoes of Women in Africa Initiatives, dedicated to advancing peace, security, and social justice for African women and girls.
The partnership was formalized during a meeting between the Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr. Samson Osagie, and members of Echoes of Women in Africa Initiatives.
Dr. Osagie said the collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both parties to drive positive change and promote the well-being of women and girls in Edo State.
Dr. Osagie emphasized that the protection of women and girls from violence and insecurity, creating a safe and conducive environment for them to thrive is very pertinent.
The commissioner for justice said social justice education, raise awareness about women’s rights, social justice, promoting a culture of equality and inclusivity is very pertinent.
He advocated support for survivors, empowering them to rebuild their lives and regain their dignity”.
The Founder, Echoes of Women in Africa Initiatives, Louisa Eikhomun-Agbonkhese, said increased awareness about women’s rights and social justice, leading to a more informed and empathetic society is very important.
She noted that reduced violence and insecurity against women and girls, creating a safer and more secure environment is necessary for their well-being.
