Edo State Govt, NDE Partner to Mentor Entrepreneurs, Boost Job Creation

As part of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s desire to drive job creation in the state,the Office of the First Lady, Edo State is partnering the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), to encourage young entrepreneurs.
The Coordinator Mrs Edesili Anani stated this during a meeting between her office and the directorate held in government house Benin City.
She described small businesses as the backbone of every economy, highlighting their potential to drive innovative growth through job creation.
Mrs Anani maintained that entrepreneurship remained the foundation of every society to drive the economy and contribute to the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
She commended the directorate for its programs, aimed at engaging youths in productive activities to steer them away from social vices.
The state coordinator of NDE, Mr. James Ikanoba, in his remark, highlighted the Directorate’s achievements in addressing various areas of skills, and catering for diverse groups through numerous programs and extensive trainings to ameliorate the rate of unemployment in the state.
Mr Ikanoba outlined numerous initiatives of the directorate aimed at empowering individuals across multiple sectors including agriculture, vocational skills, small-scale industries, and infrastructural development.
