Edo State Govt partners Federal Stakeholder on enhancing Technical Education

As part of ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening collaborations and advancing the Edo State’s Technical and Vocational Education in alignment with the State Government’s agenda, the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board for Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Barrister Mrs. Onomen Briggs, has paid a courtesy visit to the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.
Mrs. Briggs disclosed that the initiative was in line with the Governor Monday Okpebholo’s vision of ensuring quality education in the State and commended the Governor’s unwavering support and dedication to education, particularly in promoting skills development and empowering young people through vocational training. She added that the visit was part of plans aimed at reinforcing Edo State’s commitment to working closely with Federal stakeholders in the Education Sector to drive sustainable progress in TVET.
During the meeting of Mrs. Briggs with Dr. Muyibat Adenike Olodo of the Department of Technical and Vocational Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, discussions were focused on fostering stronger synergy between the Edo State Government and the Federal Government’s efforts to enhance the delivery of quality Vocational Education nationwide.
Dr. Olodo commended the Edo State Government for its proactive engagement and pledged the Federal Ministry’s continued support for initiatives aimed at improving Technical Education outcomes.
The highpoint of Mrs. Briggs engagement with Dr. Olodo and her Team was the appraisal of the shared vision between Edo State and Federal governments; and the pledge that the engagement would ensure long-term success in building a skilled and productive workforce for the future.
