Edo State Govt Partners John Snow Incorporated to Boost Vaccine Administration

The Edo State Government, through the Office of the First Lady, has partnered with John Snow Incorporated (JSI) to improve routine immunization and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination services for children during a courtesy visit in Government House.

The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Anani, assured the State Government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare service delivery, particularly for children. She emphasized the importance of routine immunization and HPV vaccination in preventing diseases.

Mrs. Anani highlighted the need for sensitization and awareness campaigns to dispel misconceptions about vaccines, especially in rural areas. She expressed gratitude to JSI for their support in bringing healthcare to vulnerable populations.

The Country Director of JSI, Dr. Olawale Durosinmi-Etti, stated that the organization supports public health programs, including immunization. He explained that JSI will implement a system to track and analyze data in real-time, provide training to vaccinators and data clerks, and conduct regular supervisions and mentoring.

The partnership aims to increase vaccine coverage and protect children from preventable diseases. With 34 teams to be deployed across the state, the collaboration is expected to improve healthcare outcomes for Edo State’s children.
