EdoHIC Organise A 2-Day Workshop on Synergy: Harnessing Collaboration for Team Success

In a bid to upgrade the health sector, The Edo State Health Insurance Scheme (EdoHIC) organized a two-day workshop at the Edo state secretariat complex, tagged ‘Synergy: Harnessing Collaboration for Team Success.’ The workshop aimed to review the scheme’s processes, procedures, and operations to align with His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo-led Government’s vision of revolutionizing the healthcare system in Edo State.

The Director General of EdoHIC, Mrs. Augusta Ikpea Enaholo, in her opening speech said, “I felt it pertinent to bring all management team to a round table to discuss the way forward for the commission. A lot has been done, we still need to work together as a team to achieve our core mandate and ensure the good people of Edo State benefit”.

Mrs. Enaholo further outlined the scheme’s planned scope, stating, ‘Edo State Health Insurance Commission will go round the eighteen local governments of Edo State. We currently have an operational head office in Edo Central, which is located in Ekpoma, and we have another operational office in Auchi. We have our operational heads of units, they have been given a mandate to go round every primary health care center in their locality to ensure they are properly sensitized and fully aware of what the Governor is doing regarding health insurance and to ensure they participate in the commission’s mandate.’

Mrs. Enaholo expressed confidence in the Commission’s future plans, stating that a significant increase in enrollment is expected, along with extensive public awareness campaigns to educate the public about the Programme. Additionally, the Commission will introduce innovative solutions to enhance its services. She assured the people of Edo State that they will directly benefit from the Commission’s efforts and witness tangible positive changes in their lives.

The meeting featured presentations on strategic departments of the commission, by experts.The Director, Planning, Research, and Statistics Department, Dr. Omorogbe Owen Stephen, spoke extensively on the department’s overview, activities, and processes, as well as the SWOT analysis amongst the other experts.
