Erika Kirk Says She Prayed to Be Pregnant After Charlie Kirk’s Death

By Ireti Asemota.

Erika Kirk, 36, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk (31), who was assassinated on September 10, 2025, during a Utah Valley University event, opened up in a raw SiriusXM interview with Megyn Kelly on November 24, 2025, about the agony of his sudden death and her desperate hope for one more child.

The Painful Prayer

With two young kids—a 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son—Erika revealed she and Charlie dreamed of four children. In the shattering days after the shooting, she prayed she was pregnant:

“I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I felt like that would have been the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.”

The couple, married since 2021, shared a profound bond; Erika’s words underscore the void left by Charlie’s loss, which Trump called “legendary” and honored with a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom in October 2025.

Advice to Young Women: Don’t Delay Motherhood

Erika now urges couples:

“When I see young couples, I tell them not to put it off. You can always build a career later. But you can’t rewind time to have children, and they grow so fast.”

Her message, born from grief, resonates amid 2025’s cultural shifts on family and work-life balance.

Charlie’s Legacy and the Aftermath

Kirk, Turning Point USA co-founder, was killed by a sniper during his American Comeback Tour—sparking national outrage, vigils, and debates on political violence (e.g., Texas hearings on campus speech). Suspect Tyler Robinson (22) faces aggravated murder charges with death penalty pursuit; Erika secured a protective order.

The family, including Erika’s stepchildren, continues Charlie’s mission. Her interview—raw and resilient—honors his memory while advocating for what he cherished most: family.

Heartbreaking yet hopeful—sending love to the Kirks. 💔
