Former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose turned 65 on Saturday, sharing stark burial wishes in a viral video from his celebration. He wants his body handed to the Ekiti State Government for burial within four weeks of death, at a garden in his grandmother’s home. “No visitors after—let me rest,” he said, urging love now, not later. He’s written a letter to current and future governors, including Biodun Oyebanji, who praised his “grassroots influence.”
President Bola Tinubu congratulated him: “Fayose speaks boldly, right or wrong. I value his support.” FCT Minister Nyesom Wike called him a “valuable brother.”
But family drama: Brother Isaac Fayose blasted him on X as “selfish” and a betrayer of family and PDP, praying for change amid his expulsion. X reactions mix awe (“Bold legacy!”) with shade (“Even death, he drags Ekiti?”).
Fayose, PDP stalwart (governed 2003–06, 2014–18), keeps stirring pots.
