Abuja, December 1, 2025 – The Tinubu administration is preparing to publicly name individuals, corporate entities and networks bankrolling terrorism in Nigeria, Presidential spokesman Daniel Bwala revealed on Sunday**.
Speaking on Television Continental, Bwala declared:
“In the coming days, Nigerians will know who the terrorists are and, more importantly, who is funding them. The government is making far-reaching decisions on national security that will soon be very clear to everyone.”
He described the move as part of an intensified, intelligence-led offensive that will combine domestic action with deeper international cooperation, noting that terrorism has now shifted its centre of gravity from the Middle East to the Sahel.
Tinubu Rejects Private Military Contractors in Africa
At the just-concluded 7th AU–EU Summit in Luanda, Angola, President Tinubu (represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima) delivered a strong message against the growing use of private military and security companies (PMSCs) in African conflict zones:
“We stand resolutely against the use of private military and security companies in African conflicts. Their presence often complicates resolution efforts and undermines state sovereignty.”
Tinubu insisted that peace and counter-terrorism operations must remain state-led, under ECOWAS, AU and UN frameworks, rather than outsourced to “parallel forces with opaque mandates.”
He warned that the global retreat from multilateralism is creating a more dangerous environment and urged the EU to deepen continent-to-continent partnership with Africa built on “mutual respect and shared aspirations.”
What to Expect Soon
- Public unmasking of terror financiers and enablers
- New sanctions and asset freezes
- Strengthened international intelligence-sharing
- Continued rejection of mercenary involvement in Nigeria and West Africa
With Boko Haram, ISWAP and bandit groups still active, Nigerians are watching closely to see if the promised revelations will finally cut the financial lifeline of terror.
The countdown has begun.
