Ghana Police Arrest Nigerian Suspect in FRSC Officer and Daughter Murder

Ghana’s Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun (also spelled Fejemirokum, 26–36 per reports), the prime suspect in the abduction and murder of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer SRC Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi (39) and her daughter Sewa Lasisi (teenager), in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Arrest Details

  • Date & Location: Sunday, November 23, 2025, at a friend’s hideout in Akyem Wenchi, Akwatia suburb (Eastern Region, Ghana).
  • How: Intelligence-led raid triggered by a viral video alleging Fejemirokun’s involvement; he fled Nigeria post-crime to evade capture.
  • Status: In custody; Ghanaian authorities are coordinating extradition to Nigeria for prosecution. No bail or release.

Regional Commander DCOP George Ohene-Boadi confirmed at a press briefing: “The suspect was wanted by Nigerian Police… We deployed an intelligence-led operation to arrest him in his hideout.” Ghana vows full cooperation, underscoring regional security ties.

The Crime

  • Date: Victims reported missing Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
  • Discovery: Mutilated bodies recovered November 17 at a herbalist’s den in Osun State (Lasisi’s headless torso in a sack by a river; daughter’s remains nearby).
  • Suspect Link: Fejemirokun, described as Lasisi’s “friend,” allegedly lured them to Osun for a consultation. A herbalist (arrested) confirmed they visited, implicating Fejemirokun and accomplices in the dismemberment and disposal.
  • Victim Profile: Lasisi was a Superintendent Route Commander (SRC) at FRSC Ogun Sector, a senior operational officer overseeing enforcement routes.

Ogun State Police Commissioner Lanre Ogunlowo handed the probe to Osun Command, with ongoing support. FRSC decried the “inhuman, callous” act, demanding justice.

Reactions

  • Ghana Police: “Frantic efforts underway to hand him over.”
  • Nigeria: Osun CP Ibrahim Gotan briefed FRSC Sector Commander CC Leye Adegboyega, confirming the herbalist’s testimony.

This cross-border arrest highlights Nigeria-Ghana security collaboration amid ritual killing concerns. Extradition expected soon; updates pending.
