Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has called on Edo indigenes residing in Osun State to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), in the August 15 governorship election.
Speaking at the APC campaign rally held at the party secretariat in Osogbo, Governor Okpebholo described Oyebamiji as the candidate best positioned to deliver quality infrastructure, improve education, and drive sustainable economic development across Osun State.
The governor expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s ability to replicate the developmental strides being recorded under APC-led administrations, particularly in Edo State.
Addressing party supporters, Okpebholo said the APC candidate would prioritise road construction and the provision of durable public infrastructure if elected.
“This is the man that stands for the development of this state. This is the man that will develop your schools. This man will construct your roads. roads that will last for 80 years and above,” he said.
He described the forthcoming election as a defining moment for the people of Osun State to choose progress and accelerate the state’s development.
“The reality of today is someone that will bring prosperity to this land. The time for us to call for progress into this state is now. We cannot wait for tomorrow. This is the best man that will do the job,” the governor added.
Governor Okpebholo also urged voters to elect a leader who would effectively utilise the resources made available to states by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to improve the lives of the people.
“We must vote for someone who will use the resources that Mr. President has made available for states to development,” he said.
Also speaking at the rally, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, appealed to the people of Osun to support the APC and its candidate, saying a victory for the party would reaffirm the state’s support for President Tinubu.
“Why we must vote for APC and AMBO is because that is the only way we can show Mr. President our appreciation,” Ododo said.
The Director-General of the Osun APC Campaign Council welcomed the visiting governors and expressed appreciation for their support. He noted that the developmental achievements recorded in Edo and Kogi under APC administrations could be replicated in Osun if Oyebamiji is elected governor.
Edo State APC Chairman, Jarrett Tenebe, and the party’s Deputy Chairman, Sylvester Aigboboh, also addressed Edo indigenes resident in Osun in their native dialect, urging them to vote overwhelmingly for the APC candidate.
The rally attracted APC leaders and supporters from Edo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun states, who reaffirmed their commitment to securing victory for the party in the August 15 governorship election.
