Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji will embark on his first-ever annual leave since assuming office in October 2022, commencing a two-week break from Sunday, November 9 to Sunday, November 23, 2025. He is scheduled to resume official duties on Monday, November 24, 2025.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Friday, November 7 by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, in Ado-Ekiti.

“The two-week leave is part of the Governor’s statutory annual leave,” the statement read.
Despite the break, Governor Oyebanji will remain actively engaged in critical state matters.
“The governor will be attending to crucial state matters while on leave,” Oyebode clarified.
This ensures continuity in governance, with the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, expected to oversee routine administration in line with constitutional provisions.

Since taking office on October 16, 2022, Governor Oyebanji has been widely praised for his hands-on leadership, infrastructure drive, and focus on human capital development under his Shared Prosperity agenda.
