Former Big Brother Naija sensation Anita “Tacha” Akide is on cloud nine—and visibly emotional—after Guinness World Records crowned her the new titleholder for two groundbreaking achievements in the world of cosmetic makeovers.
In a heartwarming X post on Wednesday, GWR celebrated her feat:
“Congratulations to @Symply_Tacha who set TWO new @GWR titles for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours AND 24 hours.”
The records were set during Tacha’s high-octane attempt on October 11, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Lagos, as part of her three-day Tacha Beauty Festival. Behind a glass wall setup that drew crowds of onlookers, the beauty maven powered through power outages (using phone flashlights as backups) and non-stop action to transform faces with full glam: foundation, concealer, blush, dual eyeshadows, mascara, lip liner/gloss, finishing powder, and brow grooming—each tailored uniquely to the sitter.
- 8-Hour Record: Tacha completed 82 makeovers, shattering the prior benchmark.
- 24-Hour Record: She crushed 144 transformations, topping the previous holder’s tally by over 30—making her the first Nigerian to snag two GWR titles in one go.
The event buzzed with star power, featuring models like influencers Mitchy, Venita Akpofure, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Wanni, and Handi, plus A-listers such as Alex Unusual, Toke Makinwa, Dabota Lawson, Soma Anyama, Slimcase, Ice Prince, and the iconic Egungun of Lagos.
Tacha, whose love for makeup sparked in childhood (despite her churchgoing mom’s initial side-eye), couldn’t hold back the tears in a raw Instagram video shared post-announcement. Reflecting on the grind—”sleepless nights, generator hum, prayers at 3 AM, swollen feet, shaky hands, and grace that does not lie”—she urged dream-chasers:
“Do not stop. If you don’t have haters, pray for haters because they’ll push you into purpose. While they hate, I chase destiny and win. My first name is Anita; it means gracious. Grace is loud.”
