Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn has issued a stark ultimatum to his star fighter Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) ahead of the December 19, 2025, heavyweight clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) at Miami’s Kaseya Center, live on Netflix: Win convincingly—or call it quits.
In a Sky Sports interview, Hearn dismissed upset fears but warned:
“If I’m wrong [about Joshua winning], I think my time’s up. Not just AJ and me retire, I think we should all retire. So, AJ, the weight of boxing is on your shoulders, my man!”
Hearn predicts a “straightforward obliteration”:
“There is absolutely no escape for Jake Paul… The minute [Joshua] smells blood, he’s letting his hands go—and there’s a major problem for Jake Paul.”
He praised Paul for taking a “real fight” but called rigging claims “illegal nonsense,” confident Joshua’s power ends it early.
